Kuje Local Government Area (LGA), has its headquarters in the town of Kuje. It comprises several towns and villages, including Damakusa, Bugako, Chida, Jeli, Kiyi, Shaji, Lafiya, Tuage, and Rubbochi[1]. With a landmass of 1,888 km², Kuje LGA had a population of 97,233 in the 2006 census, projected to increase to 212,100 in 2022, resulting in a density of 112.4/km²[2]. Kuje LGA has a vibrant trade sector and hosts the kuje market which holds every four days. Farming is also a key economic venture in Kuje LGA with crops such as onions, potatoes, groundnut and maize grown in the area.
