Maradun L.G.A Of ZAMFARA State

Maradun Local Government Area is located in Zamfara West Senatorial District with its headquarters in the town of Maradun . The LGA is made up of several towns and villages such as Gora, Namaye, Magami, Tubali, Kayawere, and Tsibiri . It has an area of 2,651 km² and a population of 207,563 at the 2006 census which was projected to rise to 369,300 with a density of 139.3/km² in 2022. Maradun local government area is home to large deposits of gold, and the area witnesses large scale mining of the mineral. Other important economic activities engaged in by the people of Maradun LGA include farming, cattle rearing, and crafts making. Maradun LGA is home to the Maradun Emirate with the area having some notable landmarks such as the Bakalori Dam.
