Bakura LGA, Zamfara State

Bakura Local Government Area, located in the Zamfara West Senatorial District with headquarters in the town of Bakura, has a landmass of 1,780 km²  . The LGA consists of a number of towns and villages which include Rimi, Bakura, Yarko Fuji, Birnin Tudu, Madacci, Nasarawa, and Dan Kadu . It had a population of 187,141 in 2006, projected to reach 332,900 by 2022, with a density of 187.0 people per km²  . Agriculture is central to the local economy, along with activities like hunting, cattle rearing, and trade. Bakura is also home to the prominent Bakolori Dam. The area’s postal code is 892, and its coordinates are 12°42′37″N, 5°52′23″E .
