Yusufari Local Government Area, with its headquarters in Yusufari town, is located within the Yobe North Senatorial District. Established in 1996, it spans an area of 4,418 square kilometres. The 2006 census recorded a population of 110,739, projected to be 174,100 in 2022, yielding a density of around 44 people per square kilometre. Agriculture and livestock rearing, especially goat and camel farming, are predominant. The LGA is notable for the Yusufari Sand Dunes and beautiful desert landscapes.
