Yunusari Local Government Area, headquartered in Kanamma, is situated in Yobe North Senatorial District. Created in 1996, Yunusari covers a vast area of 3,719 square kilometres. The population of 125,940 (2006 census) is projected to be approximately 198,000 in 2022, giving it a density of about 46 people per square kilometer. The LGA’s economy is primarily based on agriculture, focusing on millet, beans, maize and sorghum, along with camel and cattle rearing.
