Wamakko Local Government Area is located in Sokoto North Senatorial District, with its headquarters in the town of Wamakko on the Sokoto River[1]. The LGA encompasses several towns and villages, including Kammata, Gwamatse, Kokani Cidawa, Kauran, Kimaba, Wamakko, Bakin Kusu, Wajeke, Arkilla, and Kalambaina[2].Wamakko LGA spans an area of 694.3 km² and had a population of 179,246 as per the 2006 census, projected to grow to 309,400 in 2022, yielding a population density of 445.6 people per km² [3].
