Tureta Local Government Area is located in Sokoto South Senatorial District, with its headquarters in the town of Tureta. The LGA shares borders with Zamfara State to the south and east[1]. It comprises several towns and villages, including Bimasa, Lofa, Dorawa, Duma, Kawara, Kuruwa, Budda, Tureta, and Ruga[2]. The predominant ethnic group in the area is Hausa, specifically the Burmawa subgroup[3]. Tureta LGA covers an area of 1,868 km² and had a population of 68,414 as of the 2006 census, projected to increase to 118,100 by 2022, resulting in a population density of 63.22 people per km² [4].
