Tangaza LGA, Sokoto State

Tangaza Local Government Area is located in Sokoto North Senatorial District, with its headquarters in the town of Gidan Madi[1]. It shares a northern border with the Republic of Niger. The LGA includes several towns and villages, such as Sakkwai, Kalanjemi, Gongono, Raka, Suti, Mafonho, Gurdam, and Gidan Madi[2]. Tangaza LGA spans an area of 2,319 km² and had a population of 114,770 according to the 2006 census. This population was projected to grow to 198,100 by 2022, resulting in a density of approximately 85.43 people per km² [3]. The local economy thrives on livestock rearing, with cows, horses, and camels being commonly raised and traded.
