Silame LGA, Sokoto State

Silame Local Government Area is situated in Sokoto North Senatorial District, with its headquarters in the town of Silame, located along the Sokoto River[1]. The LGA consists of several towns and villages, including Gande, Marafa, Maji, Labani, Katami, Kubodu, and Silame[2]. Covering an area of 738.2 km², Silame LGA had a population of 104,601 in the 2006 census, which was projected to reach 180,500 by 2022, resulting in a population density of 244.5 people per km² [3].
