Sabon Birni  Local Government Area is located in Sokoto East Senatorial District, with its headquarters in the town of Sabon Birni[1]. The LGA borders the Republic of Niger to the north and includes several towns and villages, such as Tara, Kukawa, Gatawa, Tsamaye, Kalgo, Laginga, Gangara, and Makuwana[2]. Sabon Birni LGA spans an area of 2,297 km² and had a population of 207,470 as per the 2006 census, which was projected to grow to 358,100 by 2022, giving it a density of 155.9 people per km² [3]. The region serves as a major trading hub, hosting several markets, including the well-known Sabon Birni market, where a variety of goods are exchanged.
