Bodinga L.G.A Of SOKOTO State

Bodinga Local Government Area is situated in Sokoto South Senatorial District and was originally established by Abdullahi dan Fodio in 1809[1]. The headquarters of Bodinga LGA is in the town of Bodinga and includes towns and villages such as Dingyadi, Badawa, Sifawa, Lukuyawa, Toma, Garko, Tulluwa, and Bindiri. Hausa and Fufulde are the widely spoken languages, and the majority of the population comprises members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups [2]. Bodinga LGA spans an area of 694.1 km². At the 2006 census, the population was 174,302, with projections estimating a population of 300,900 in 2022, resulting in a population density of 433.5 people per km² [3]. Agriculture serves as the main economic activity in Bodinga, with a variety of crops cultivated. Additionally, residents engage in hunting, cattle rearing, mat making, and trading [4].
