Jos East Local Government Area, headquartered in Angware, is part of the Plateau North Senatorial District in Plateau State. Created in 1996, the LGA spans about 1,020 square kilometers with a population of 88,301 (2006 census) and is projected to be 129,200 in 2022. Much of its area is dedicated to farming and mining.
