It was created on 14th December 1996 and covers an area of 1,320 km². Saki-East has a population of 110,223 according to the 2006 census, with a projected population of 155,700 in 2022 . The population density is 118.0 people per square kilometer. Agriculture is the dominant economic activity, with notable communities including Ago-Amodu, Sepeteri, Ogbooro, Oje-Owode, and Agbonle.
