Aiyedaade, with headquarters in Gbongan In the northern part of the area, is a significant local government within the Osun West Senatorial District in Osun State, Nigeria. It is as old as Osun State, having been created alongside it. Covering a land area of 1,113 square kilometers, Aiyedaade has a population of about 150,392 (2006 census), projected to be 194,200 in 2022, giving it a population density of 194.4 people per square kilometer.
The LGA’s economy is predominantly agricultural, with notable economic activities in farming. Notable personalities from Aiyedaade include Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin, a former president of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, and Patricia Olubunmi Foluke Etteh, who served as the 10th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria.
