Okitipupa LGA, located in the southern part of Ondo State, has its headquarters in the town of Okitipupa.[1]. Covering 1,800 square kilometers, it had a population of 233,565 in 2006[2], projected to grow to 368,200 by 2022, with a population density of 204.6 people per square kilometer[3]. Okitipupa LGA belongs to the Ondo South Senatorial District.
The LGA is known for its oil palm plantations, which are the backbone of its economy. In addition to agriculture, Okitipupa is a center for higher education, hosting Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH).
