Akoko North East L.G.A Of ONDO State

Akoko North-East, with its headquarters in Ikare-Akoko[1], is one of the notable LGAs in Ondo State, located within the Ondo North Senatorial District. Established in 1976, it spans an area of 371.2 square kilometers. The population stood at 175,409 according to the 2006 census.[2], has been projected to grow to 275,100 by 2022, yielding a population density of approximately 741.1 people per square kilometer[3]. 

Economically, Akoko North-East thrives on agriculture, with crops like cocoa, kola nut, yam, and cassava.[4] Being widely cultivated. The LGA also has a vibrant trading sector, with Ikare serving as a bustling commercial hub. A significant landmark is Legacy Polytechnic Ikare, which contributes to educational advancement in the region. 

The people of Akoko North-East predominantly celebrate various festivals such as the New Yam Festival and Egungun Festival. Traditional chieftaincy titles are highly revered, reflecting the deep cultural heritage of the people.
