Shomolu Local Government Area is situated in Southwest Nigeria, north of Lagos City, with its administrative headquarters located on Durosimi Street[1]. It is part of the Lagos East Senatorial District.
The LGA had a population of 403,569 in 2006, which was projected to reach 597,400 by 2022. With a land area of 10.30 square kilometres, it has a population density of 58,019 people per square kilometre[2]. Shomolu's geographical coordinates are 6°32′27″N 3°23′14″E.
Shomolu is widely recognized as Lagos State's printing hub, hosting a concentration of offset and digital print shops, particularly around Bajulaiye Road and Oguntolu.
