Yagba East L.G.A Of KOGI State

Yagba East Local Government Area (LGA), has its headquarters in Isanlu, located within Kogi West Senatorial District. It comprises several towns and villages, including Ogbon, Ejuku, Alu, Oranre, Panyan, Odo-amu, Idofin, Ijowa, and Irunda[1]. With a landmass of 1,397 km², Yagba East LGA had a population of 147,641 in the 2006 census, projected to increase to 199,000 in 2022, resulting in a density of 142.4/km²[2]. The Okun dialect of the Yoruba language is commonly spoken in the LGA and prominent traditional rulers in Yagba East LGA include the Olu-Ejuku of Ejuku. The LGA is renowned for its cultivation of a variety of crops such as yam, rice, and cassava. A number of mineral deposits such as gold are also found in Yagba East LGA.
