Olamaboro is a Local Government Area in the southeast of Kogi State bordering Enugu State and Benue State with its headquarters in the town of Okpo in Kogi East Senatorial District.[1] Major towns in the LGA include Imani, Ogodu, Okpo, Adumu, Enabo, Ofenwa, Ojamakogwu, Eboyi, and Akpagidigbo.[2] The LGA covers an area of 1,123 km², with a population of 158,490 in 2006, projected to grow to 213,600 in 2022, giving it a density of 190.3/km² [3]. The people of Olamaboro speaks Igala which is one of the major languages in Kogi state[4]. Olamaboro LGA has a rich agricultural sector with the area known for the cultivation of a variety of food and cash crops. A number of festivals such as the Ote-egwu festival are held in Olamboro LGA.
