Okehi Local Government Area (LGA), is headquartered in the town of Obangede, within the Kogi Central Senatorial District. It borders the Adavi, Lokoja, Akoko edo and Kabba-Bunu LGAs.[1]. It comprises several towns and villages, including Erika, Ihima, Ikuehi, Ohueta, Okaito, Omavi,Uboro, and Obangede. Covering an area of 688.1 km², the LGA had a population of 223,774 according to the 2006 census, which was projected to rise to 301,300 in 2022 with a density of 437.8/km² [2]. Okehi LGA is rich in mineral deposits such as iron ore, gemstone, and clay. Festivals celebrated in Okehi LGA include the Ichekane, Uhene, and Echene festivals.
