Mopa-Muro local government, with its headquarters in the town of Mopa situated in Kogi West Senatorial District[1]. Mopa-Muro LGA is made up of several towns and villages such as Anunmade, Iya lere, Aribo, Mopa, Annumote, Omolokun,and Arupe Dena[2]. It covers an area of 896.6 km², with a population of 43,760 as of the 2006 census, projected to rise to 59,000 in 2022 with a density of 65.81/km ²[3]. The vast majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Okun ethnic sub-division of the Yoruba tribe. The Yagba dialect of the Yoruba language is commonly spoken in the area.
