Wudil Local Government Area (LGA) is located in southeastern Kano State, Nigeria, approximately 38 kilometers from Kano city, with its administrative headquarters in Wudil town along the A237 highway. Covering an area of 274.3 square kilometers, Wudil LGA had a population of 188,639 according to the 2006 census. By 2022, estimates suggest the population has grown to approximately 310,300, increasing the population density to around 1,131 people per square kilometer. It is located in Kano South senatorial district. The economy of Wudil LGA is predominantly agricultural, with residents engaged in farming activities such as the cultivation of red and white sorghum, rice, beans, soybeans, and both white and yellow maize. Trade also thrives in the area, with markets like the Singa market and the Wudil livestock market attracting numerous buyers and sellers.
