Warawa Local Government Area (LGA) is situated in southeastern Kano State, Nigeria. Its administrative center is located in Warawa town, which is positioned along the A237 highway. The LGA is a part of the Kano Central Senatorial District. Established in the 1990s from Dawakin Kudu LGA, Warawa covers an area of approximately 322.5 square kilometers. According to the 2006 census, its population was 131,858, and by 2022, estimates suggest growth to 216,900, demonstrating significant population increases corresponding with a population density of 672.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. Economically, Warawa is largely agricultural, with residents primarily cultivating crops such as sorghum, sugarcane, tomatoes, onions, and groundnuts. The area is notable for its pottery, animal rearing, and local trading activities, especially in markets like Lahadin Makole.
