Makoda Local Government Area, with headquarters in Makoda Town, is located in the North Senatorial District of Kano State. The Local Government Area was created following its separation from Danbatta Local Government Area.Makoda had a population of 220,094 according to the 2006 census, the population has increased to an estimated 362,000 by 2022. It encompasses a land area of 405.4 square kilometers. The population density in 2022 was 893.1 inhabitants per square kilometer.Agriculture is the primary economic activity. The cultivation of grains, such as tomatoes and rice, is prevalent.
