Dala L.G.A Of KANO State

Dala Local Government Area (LGA), established in May 1989 from the former Kano Municipal Local Government, is a densely populated region situated in the northwestern part of the Kano metropolis within Kano State, Nigeria. The administrative center is located in Gwammaja. The 2006 census recorded a population of 418,759, and by 2022, estimates suggested a significant increase to approximately 688,700.Encompassing a total area of 13 square kilometers, Dala LGA is characterized by its urban setting and high population density, reaching approximately 49,530 inhabitants per square kilometer by 2022. The diverse economy encompasses trade, services, and small-scale industries. The area is recognized for its bustling markets, notably the historic Kurmi Market, established in the 15th century, which functions as a major commercial center.A prominent landmark is Dala Hill, a site of historical and cultural significance that offers panoramic views of Kano city.
