Bichi Local Government Area (LGA), situated in the northwestern region of Kano State, Nigeria, falls within the Kano North Senatorial District. The administrative center is located in the town of Bichi. Bichi LGA encompasses an area of approximately 721.7 square kilometers. Based on the 2006 census, the population of Bichi was recorded at 278,309. However, by 2022, estimates indicate a population increase to approximately 457,700, resulting in a population density of 634.2 inhabitants per square kilometer.The economy of Bichi LGA is primarily driven by agriculture, with residents actively involved in cultivating crops such as sorghum, millet, beans, and groundnuts. The town's foundation can be traced back to the Danejawa clan, under the leadership of Ardo Buba, the grandfather of Malam Danzabuwa. The Danejawa, a prominent clan within the Fulani tribe, are distinguished by their tradition of raising pure white cows. Their historical journey involved migration from Chad to Hausaland, culminating in their eventual settlement in Bichi.
