Kagarko Local Government Area (LGA), located in the Kaduna South Senatorial District of Kaduna State, Nigeria, is an administrative region with headquarters in Kagarko Town. Established in 1991, Kagarko LGA had a population of approximately 239,058 people, according to the 2006 national census. The LGA covers a land area of 2,356 square kilometers, resulting in a population density of roughly 101 people per square kilometer. Estimates for 2022 indicate a population increase to 353,200, with a corresponding population density of 149.9 people per square kilometer. Kagarko LGA shares borders with Kachia, Jaba, Paikoro, Gurara, Karu (Nasarawa State), Tafa (Niger State), and Bwari (Federal Capital Territory).Kagarko Local Government Area's economy is primarily driven by agriculture, with yam and maize cultivation being the major crop of choice.
