Kaduna South Local Government Area (LGA), established in 1991, is a significant urban area within Kaduna State, Nigeria. Its administrative center is situated in Makera, a part of the Kaduna metropolis. The LGA is a constituent of the Kaduna Central Senatorial District. According to the 2006 census, the population was approximately 402,731. However, projections for 2022 estimate the population to be 595,000, with a population density of 12,879 inhabitants per square kilometer. The annual population growth rate between 2006 and 2022 was 2.5%.
