Jaba Local Government Area (LGA), with headquarters in Kwoi, is a significant LGA situated within Kaduna South Senatorial District. Established in 1991 following its separation from Jema’a LGA, Jaba LGA had an estimated population of 155,973 people, according to the 2006 census. The LGA covers a land area of 531 square kilometers, resulting in a population density of approximately 294 people per square kilometer.
