Babaura Local Government Area is situated in Jigawa North-West Senatorial District. It shares borders with Baure Local Government Area of Katsina State to the north, Kazaure LGA to the west, Sule Tankarkar LGA to the east, and Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State to the south . The headquarters of Babura LGA is located in the town of Babura, and it encompasses several towns and villages, including Bebur, Burukum, Gaskoli, Kafin Rabo, Inshanuwa, Dorawa, and Bai Ali . The LGA covers an area of 1,023 km² and had a population of 212,955 according to the 2006 census, which was projected to rise to 366,200 by 2022, resulting in a population density of 358.0 people per km²  .
