Ideato South L.G.A Of IMO State

Ideato South local government area located in Imo state, South-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria has its headquarters in the town of Dikenafai. It is amongst the local governments that make up Imo West senatorial zone. It spans a landmass of  93.69 km² and had a population of 159,654 in the 2006 census, projected to increase to 221,900 by 2022. A notable institution in the area is a private university initially established by former Governor Rochas Okorocha under the name Eastern Palm University. Recently, it was renamed K. O. Mbadiwe University, now recognized as the second state-owned university in Imo State, after Imo State University. Agriculture plays a vital role in Ideato South LGA's economy, with key crops including oil palm, melon, rubber, maize, breadfruit, yam, and cassava.
