Ahiazu Mbaise L.G.A Of IMO State

Ahiazu Mbaise officially recognized as a Local Government Area (LGA) in Imo State, Nigeria has its headquarters in Afo oru. It was formed through the unification of Ahiara and Ekwerazu communities. It is amongst the local governments that make up Imo East senatorial zone.  It spans a landmass of 99.59 km²  and had a population of 170,824 in the 2006 census, projected to increase to 237,400 by 2022. Ahiazu Mbaise LGA is made up of various towns and villages, including Akabor, Ogbe, Obodo-Ujichi, Ihitte Afor, Oru Ahiara, and Opara Nadim. Ahiazu Mbaise thrives on farming and trading as key economic activities. Well-known markets like Ofor Oru and Afor Ogbe draw numerous buyers and sellers daily, fostering vibrant commercial exchanges in the area.
