Enugu East  Local Government Area is located in Enugu State South East Geo political zone, with its administrative headquarters in the town of Nkwo Nike. It is part of the Enugu East senatorial zone. The LGA spans an area of approximately 400.2 km². As per the 2006 census, the population of Enugu East was 277,119, with a projected population of about 397,700 by 2022.The economy of Enugu East LGA is largely driven by commerce, with a number of markets and businesses contributing to its growth. Farming is also practiced, with crops such as cassava, vegetables, and yam cultivated in the area.
