Ise/Orun Local Government Area (LGA) is located in the Ekiti South Senatorial District of Ekiti State, Nigeria, with its administrative headquarters in Ise-Ekiti[1]. Established in 1989[2], Ise/Orun LGA was carved out of the former Ekiti South LGA in Ondo State. It covers an area of 428.6 square kilometres and has a projected population of approximately 170,600 in 2022, resulting in a population density of 398 people per square kilometre, up from 113,951 recorded in the 2006 census[3].
Agriculture is the backbone of Ise/Orun’s economy, with most residents engaged in farming. The LGA is Ekiti State's largest cocoa producer, a point of pride for the community. In addition to farming, a significant number of people are employed as civil servants, while others work as artisans in various trades. The area also boasts about 56 square kilometres of forest reserve, making it the largest timber forest in Ekiti State and a valuable resource for local lumbering activities[4]. The area postal code is 361[5].
