Ohaozara Local Government Area, founded in 1976[1], is located in the Ebonyi South Senatorial District with headquarters in Obiozara[2]. Comprising the communities of Uburu, Okoposi, Ugwulangwu, Akaeze, Ishiagu, Amaokwe, Umuobor, and Amachi[3], it covers 354.7 km² and had a population of 148,217 in 2006, projected to reach 220,900 by 2022, with a density of 622.8 people per km²[4]. Predominantly inhabited by the Ohaozara subgroup of the Igbo people, who speak the Ohaozara dialect, the LGA relies on agriculture, producing crops such as cassava, yam, maize, and vegetables.
