Izzi Local Government Area is located in Iboko within the Ebonyi North Senatorial District and spans 1,166 km²[1]. It share boundaries with Abakaliki, Ikwo, and with parts of Cross River and Benue states. Towns and villages that make up Izzi LGA include Abaja, Igbeagu, Mgbala ukwu, Ndieze, Ezzinyi magu, Edukpachi, Ohuruekpe, and Okpoduma[2]. With a 2006 population of 236,679, projected to reach 352,500 by 2022, the LGA has a density of 302.3 people per km²[3]. Izzi is an agricultural trade hub, producing yams, cassava, rice, palm oil, and palm kernels, alongside mining activities for lead, zinc, salt, and limestone[4]. Other important economic activities in Izzi LGA include hunting and rearing of domestic animals such as goats and pigs. Important festivals held in Izzi LGA include the Ojiji festival[5].
