Ikwo Local Government Area, the largest in Ebonyi State, is located in Ebonyi Central Senatorial District with headquarters in Onu-Ebonyi Echara[1]. The LGA is bordered by Abakaliki, Izzi, and Ezza LGAs and also by parts of Cross River state. The towns and villages that make up Ikwo LGA include Agubia, Echara ukwu, Eka Awoke, Ameri, Ohankwu, Ekpelu umuaka, Okpu Itumo, and Otagbara[2]. Created in 1996, it covers 690.9 km² and borders Abakaliki, Izzi, Ezza LGAs, and Cross River State[3].
