Abakaliki L.G.A Of EBONYI State

Abakiliki Local Government Area, headquartered in Nkaliki, within Ebonyi North Senatorial District, is the capital of Ebonyi State, Nigeria[1]. Created in 1996, it spans 439.6 km² and had a population of 149,683 in 2006, projected to reach 223,000 by 2022 with a density of 507.2 people per km² as of 2022[2]. Key economic activities include the cultivation of yams, cassava, rice, and the production of palm oil, alongside mining for lead, zinc, salt, and limestone[3]. Home to Ebonyi State University and the Abakaliki Township Stadium[4], Abakaliki is located at 6°20′N 8°06′E and stands as an administrative and economic landmark for the state[5].
