Etung Local Government Area is in Cross River. Its headquarters is located in Effraya town. It had a population of 80,366 in 2006 and is projected to reach 121,900 in 2022. Etung covers an area of 969.4km2 and has a population density of 125 people per kilometer square and was created out of Ikom Local Government in 1996 .
