Abi L.G.A Of CROSS RIVER State

Abi  is a Local Government Area in Cross River state. Created on September 23rd 1991 out of the former Ugeb Local government area. It’s headquarters is located in Itigidi with a growing population of 144,317 people (2006) and is projected to reach 219,800 in 2022.  Abi local government area is under the Cross Rivers Central senatorial district  with a population density of 922 people per square kilometer and sits on an area of  238.2 kilometer square.The largest tribe in Abi is Bahumono. It is home to Notable people like Liyel Imoke, former Cross River governor and Shan George, popular Nollywood actress.
