Ukwa West is a Local Government Area in Abia State, Nigeria, with its administrative headquarters in Oke Ikpe town. Ukwa West Local Government Area is bordered by Ukwa East to the east, Ugwunagbo to the northeast, and Osisioma to the north, all within Abia State. It is among the local governments that make up Abia South senatorial zone. The LGA had a population of 87,367 in 2006 and was projected to reach 127,200 in 2022. The LGA spans 244.9 km².
