Ekeremor Local Government Area is located in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, with its administrative headquarters in the town of Ekeremor in the northeastern part of the area. It falls within the Bayelsa West Senatorial District and is predominantly inhabited by the Ekeremor clan of the Ijaw ethnic group.
Ekeremor LGA had a population of 269,588 in 2006, projected to grow to 401,300 by 2022. Spanning 1,825 square kilometres, the area has a population density of approximately 219.9 people per square kilometre . The geographical coordinates are 5°3′N 5°47′E.
Ekeremor’s economy is largely driven by fishing, supported by its network of rivers and tributaries rich in seafood.
