Ekeremor Local Government Area is located in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, with its administrative headquarters in the town of Ekeremor in the northeastern part of the area. It falls within the Bayelsa West Senatorial District and is predominantly inhabited by the Ekeremor clan of the Ijaw ethnic group.


Ekeremor LGA had a population of 269,588 in 2006, projected to grow to 401,300 by 2022. Spanning 1,825 square kilometres, the area has a population density of approximately 219.9 people per square kilometre . The geographical coordinates are 5°3′N 5°47′E.


Ekeremor’s economy is largely driven by fishing, supported by its network of rivers and tributaries rich in seafood. Farming also plays a significant role, with crops such as plantain and sugarcane widely cultivated. Additionally, the LGA is endowed with substantial crude oil and natural gas reserves, attracting local and international oil companies whose operations contribute significantly to its economic development.

Educationally, Ekeremor hosts the Bayelsa State Polytechnic in Aleibiri town, located about 51 kilometres from Yenagoa, the state capital. The Polytechnic is accessible via the Sagbama/Toru-Orua Road or Bomadi Road from Delta State.
