Aba North Local Government Areais located in Aba, Abia state Nigeria and has its headquarters at Eziama Uratta. It is amongst the local governments that make up Abia South senatorial zone. It was created in the year 1991. With a population of about 106,844 (2006 census), it covers an area of 27.38 km² and population is projected to be 155,600 in 2022.Aba North Local Government Area (LGA) is known for being home to one of the largest and most famous markets in Africa, the Ariaria International Market. The Ariaria International Market is often called the "China of Africa" because of the locally made goods, including textiles, leather products, and footwear. The people of the area are mostly Christians and traditional worshippers with Igbo and English as the commonly spoken languages.
